Part of this scheduling is on him.

Garland didn't help. Nobody thought we would be this good. Blame the losses, not the scheduling.

The selection committee blamed most the SOS. So I am going to blame what they blamed. I hope it is better next year. We could have played some teams at their place like we did Arkansas.

Have a better schedule and the losses would not have mattered. If you listen to the committee even if we had not had those losses we would have been out. But at any rate let's try to do better in scheduling next year.

Playing in Garland didn't help. As a season ticket holder, I should know. Couldn't get SMU fans or students to Garland. Won't be any excuse next year for an OOC upgrade.

We will schedule better next year, no doubt. I honestly think it was a combination of garland and just not expecting that we would be good enough to be on the bubble this year. LB and Hart were probably worrying more about enough wins to make the NIT when they made the schedule.

Hopefully some reporters will ask LB about why they put together the schedule they did.

Easy to say if we had not had the losses we would have made it, but that does not excuse the scheduling.

Scheduling is Larry Brown fyi. Coaches are the ones that take care of that. But 100% with your post.

yeah I bet with all the SMU Basketball staff on the payroll that Hart really doesn't have much say in Basketball scheduling.

Technically, it's not even Larry Brown's job. . . One of the assistant coaches handle the scheduling duty.

Forrest Gregg once forced John Shumate to over schedule for the sake of ticket sales, and the results were fairly ugly. Since then both Copeland and Orsini were pretty much hands off as far as scheduling went, they let the coaches in every sport set up their own schedule as long as they stayed within budget. Not sure what Harts policy is, but I have not heard of him interfering with scheduling. He let June drop Baylor, last year.

You need to drop TCU, that's what kills you.

Fact. But LB has the final say I'm sure. At least that's how it's handled by nearly every other school in the country. Anyways, needs to improve is the bottom line. People get enamored with playing top 25 teams and what not, that's not where the schedule is deficient. It lacks the mid-tier programs that are good but won't make the tourney.
