Now Larry Brown has the chance to win the NCAA championship, the NBA championship and the NIT Championship. Nothing any coach has ever done.
And we get to watch 5 more SMU MBB games. Would love a NIT championship banner unfurled next season at Moody.

I hope the team goes out and steamrolls everyone in the NIT.

I don't think any coach has ever won the NBA championship and the NCAA championship.

It's sort of THE one thing our coach is known for.

I was initially disappointed by the snub, but think this will be one of the best things to happen to the program. The way the team was playing, they probably would have been one-and-done in the tourney. Presumably we can get the ship righted with two ROWDY games at Moody, and there's no reason we shouldn't win the NIT outright and come back next year with an undeniably improved squad and a MAJOR chip on our shoulder.

Good post. Some good can still come from this, but now SMU needs to win. Losing early will only validate the committee snub. I just can't bring myself to posting on those threads created by that other guy.

Completely agree with this. NCAA snub aside, the wheels had been coming off the tracks a bit at the end of the season. Let's get on a run (Moody home-court advantage should get us back in business), take a shot at the NIT title, and come back hungry next year.

Imagine your kid is going through his college apps and has the criteria and even strong indications from top schools saying he'll get in but instead ends up getting rejected by all from someone else that did not fully read their app, and is now forced to go to community college. Yippee!

About midway through the first half of the Louisville game, this team went into zombie mode. and been there ever since. They may have needed a shock to zap them out of their living dead state.

You kinda just described Nic Moore.
