Among the other things that LB said, did I hear him mention that Shawn Williams was going to be on the coaching staff next year?

I did not hear this morning. Last night when LB was asked if any of the players had comments in the locker room, LB indicated that Shawn said the NIT would be the last time he would put on the uniform. That he would not have a future (meaning playing pro-ball, I think). LB then said that Shawn would be in grad school and "have a place" with him.
It makes sense to me.

Yes, LB mentioned that about Shawn in his press conference after the snub.

Also, the character comments he has been throwing around is directly related to the couple techs Nic received over the last few games. He didn't call out Nic by name but he specifically mentioned the techs

I caught a portion of the M&M interview and it DID seem to indicate that Shawn would be coaching with LB.
That's cool.

Both last night and this morning LB called out the team by saying this team has talent, but lacked character the last two weeks. He then went on to call out Nic Moore (not by name) for silly fouls which hurt us against Louisville. I think if Nic wants to be a starter next year he better get his act together before Wednesday. It is evident that throughout the season Nic was the most important player on the team and it is also evident that Nic's play in the last three games cost him and his teammates a NCAA bid. Now it is time to see if he has learned anything or will he keep making the same mistakes.

He hasn't. His strength is his biggest weakness. He thinks he is the best baller on the court and that he is a better option than any of his teammates. He may be right but you have to run the offense and find the hot hand. The second half of conference play, he became harder for Brown to control. Can you name a instance this year where he fed the hot hand? On the nights Frazier came in and scored, how many times did Nic find him again immediately? He needs to be on the wing - not controlling the offense...........

Shawn Williams will make a good coach. Glad he will stay on with us. Good character and a leader.

it's also good for Shawn to be a grad assistant because of the message it sends about this team If you come here and work hard you are part of the family and we will do what we can to give you a life in basketball if that is your dream. It might not be the NBA but there isn't a coaching staff with more connections to all aspects of basketball. Don't be surprised if Shawn becomes another branch of the LB coaching tree.
