That’s a big mistake,†Avello said. “I was thinking Louisville had an outside shot at a 1. I was shocked. But as an oddsmaker and a book guy, I’m not going to get caught up in the NCAA’s decisions.†Although Avello qualified that it would have no effect in Las Vegas, he referred to leaving SMU out of the field as “ridiculous.†I got L'ville at 15/1 to win last night.

I think it is funny that he is shocked that 6 of his top 20 are in one region. That is just one more team than you would have if they divided it perfectly evenly using his exact system.

Check out this guy https://twitter.com/bostonred88Professional gambler/bettor. Great tweets about what he feels are injustices. One he pointed out that I hadn't seen was that our new favorite coach - coach k - will get to face either Umass (who he didn't even have in the tourney) or Tenn/Iowa - who would be playing their 3rd game in 5 days (in duke's backyard)

I don't understand why the committee is full of executives from schools, who whether they admit it or not will always have bias towards their conference and their friends. The polls are decided by the media, awards are given by the media. Let the people who follow the sport religiously pick the field, and don't let some political villains tell a team that their season is over

Everybody needs to remember this. The new football selection committee will basically be the same as basketball. Everyone who has been raging against the BCS (which was determined by voters and computer systems designed by experts) will be getting their way - a system based on conference politics with a secretive selection process.

Imagine the corruption seen already in basketball translated to the ncaa's moneymaker sport. I'm surprised they haven't given bama an auto qualifying spot to the playoff once they hit 6 wins

Steve Orsini was on the Committee and he couldn't spell basketball. Seriously, it wasn't a strong suit of his as an AD. So, it's not unfair to suggest that the Selection Committee, objectively, isn't the best way to do this.
Does the AAC at least pick up a rep for next season?

You're kidding, right???? Re-read the post above yours. The current system works perfectly for the ACC.
