Who gives a [deleted]? Honestly, I really do hope Moody turns out to support the guys. But even if we win the NIT it doesn't mean [deleted].

It means another banner to hang in Moody. Banners are cool and impressive.

Winning the NIT would solidify the message that we were shafted. Also might help with preseason ranking next year

I give a [deleted] about the NIT. . . Like everybody else, I'm p-I-s-s-e-d off about the "nutshot" the NCAA Selection Committee gave SMU. . . But, it's time to move on from that.

what does being excluded from NCAA have to do with our loyalty to the university and the pride we have in this team that we all think deserved an NCAA bid? We'll be there to support the team which got screwed
BTW some selected comparisons:
RPI-UC-Irvine 114 (similiar to Texas Tech, UH 143, A&M 146)
BPI-UC Irvine 105 (similiar to Texas A&M, UH 130)
so they have a quality team that we should beat if we play to our potential

If we run through the nit without a challenge, serious questions will be asked about the selection committee, and I want to witness that. Going to New York to play in msg is still an awesome experience for our team, especially for the seniors to end their career there, and it would give the returning guys good experience in the spotlight.

The NIT is like bowl games - its a few more days to practice and play together. Win it all and we keep our name in the news, and it makes a statement going into next season.
Go Mustangs!!!

Why not care about the NIT? Are we all just as pissed as you - heck yes. What better way for the team to give the selection committee a middle finger than by going to the NIT and donkey stomping everyone in their path? The WORST thing we could do is get so dejected that we take the NIT lightly and get trounced in the first round. Like Shawn told his teammates yesterday, this is his last time wearing a uniform and he wants to go out the right way. The right way is for this team to come together and win the NIT and send him and Nick off at MSG.
