Is playing their first round home game against WV at what looks like a HS gym (capacity 2,000). They normal play in the Verizon Center (capacity 18,000+). Their students are loud and really into the game.

McDonough was the former home of the program before they moved to the Capital Center and later to the MCI/Verizon Center

Ha! The gym is so small you can hear the crowd. Someone just yelled into the mic - "hey Huggins, Bob you're fat!" It froze the announcers.

I'm surprised they haven't built an on-campus facility that holds 12,000 or so. I guess real estate in that area is through the roof expensive, but they've always had a hard time drawing at Verizon as it's somewhat of a trek for students. No Metro stop on G'Town campus either

Verizon is where the Bullets (Wiz) play, right?
this game is interesting because of the kid who keeps telling Huggins he's fat.

Nearest metro stop to G'Town is in Foggy Bottom at GWU. They have no space on campus. Would make sense for G'Town to share a facility with GWU but that will probably never happen

Yes, pain in the [deleted] to get to from the G'Town campus as you either have to cab it, drive in that terrible traffic and park, or take a bus to the nearest Metro station. Guess it's not as bad as the old arena which was way out in Maryland near where the Redskins play now

True, but GW has a nice facility for their needs with the Smith Center. Always enjoyed watching games there during the Mike Jarvis era. Maybe they could share a facility with American U? It's also just right up the road

GW is closer than American. Most of GT's games would work at the Smith Center. Play the big games at Verizon

That WAS pretty funny. No doubt that little gym was a huge advantage for Georgetown.

The Wiz Kids were in Sacramento.
The Caps were in Anaheim.
No concerts or events were scheduled.
So...nope?

Given that ESPN just said the circus, yes.
