OOC Primer

Ok, I see that we've scheduled a home & away series w/ Indiana and that Izzo and Wichita will play anyone anywhere… But how does the OOC scheduling process actually work? How far out in advance are games generally scheduled? How are teams selected for early-season tournaments? Do we have any clue what next season’s OOC schedule looks like right now? Are good teams pretty much already booked solid for 2014-15 at this point? Basically, to what extent can we improve our schedule between now and this fall, or is this something that needs to be fixed two years out?

The on-court issues will fix themselves by next season. I have no doubt of that. Just curious as to how/when this particular deficiency of ours will be fixed.

I'd also like to know when the preseason tournament schedules are released. We were in one last year with UVA and A&M which wasn't too shabby, even if it was in Corpus Christi. Maybe we can get a better gig this year?

If we just win the conference tournament next year none of this will matter. Time to take it out of the committee's hands.

Agreed - this should be our goal next year. Run through everyone and get that conference crown

I expect it to be well out of the committee's hands before the conference tourney even begins. Next year's team should be very good

as far as when the OOC schedule is created, per Wichita State vs Memphis, that was confirmed a few days ago. I suspect there is opportunity now to secure some decent competitive OOC games.
I can't believe Hart isn't on this already. His explanation on Straight From the Hart, was very well written and very clean on why it was what it was. I am expecting Mr Hart to do what is necessary for next years schedule.

Hoopmanx and others have indicated that Hart doesnt have much to do with OOC scheduling. The coaching staff handles it

"win the conference tournament" is a great non-answer. and don't you think playing some tougher teams around the holidays, instead of sleepwalking through Texas Pan-American, would make the team better suited for the conference tournament in the long run?

Hart doesn't have much to do with anything.

With both teams wearing Harvard red it will be impossible to them them apart.

I wrote down a list of teams I'd like to play against that include Clemson, Michigan, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Harvard, Yale, Wichita State, New Mexico, Arizona, UCLA, Gonzaga, New Mexico State, Florida, Arkansas (maybe) and then some local teams to us like TCU and UNT and more.

Yeah man, no worries. Use it all the time. I deal in tickets from time to time so it helps me out being able to see it all.
