Feel bad for both teams...

Nobody deserved that kind of officiating. Some really bad calls both ways. I honestly think the crowd was in their heads also. It was complete chaos on the court. Irvine was a good team, have a lot of respect for them now. Their big man can play a whole lot better than I thought he could. On to the next one though, Pony Up!

He actually has a pretty athletic frame (I thought). Guy has some real potential.

Nope... don't really give a rip... doesn't bother me at all if the Fighting Marmaduke Hand Jives think they got screwed.

The refs were so bad it made me long for the SWC ref - "Poodle Head" and "Tattoo."

Was at the game, and the refs were bad. . . Never seen a game where the officials take points away from SMU after Nic Moore shot 2 FT. . . Even though it was only the 6th team foul on Irvine. Also took a foul away from Irvine after calling a foul on Irvine.

Good officials do not reverse calls. As for their big guy, I thought he controlled the key area the first half - blocking shots, rebounds and shots. I was looking forward to see how LB would attack him. SMU seemed to keep big guy running and moving from side to side. By the end of the game he was missing shots, loosing rebounds, etc, Plus SMU got more physical causing the refs to pay more attention to the basket area.

Were the NIT refs the ones that did not make it to the NCAA tournament? LOL. Just kidding.

Taking away the free throws was complete crap. It essentially double penalized us because we ended up losing that position. The rule book can't say that points can be taken away after the fact. Refs were also really bad at game management in general. Lots of stoppages to talk things through, taking away that foul, inadvertent whistle, and when we blocked a shot and started running the other way, they were late on calling our guy out of bounds and forget to take the shot clock down to where it was since there was no change of possession. It wasn't even JV level tonight. Horrendous.

I've seen better YMCA youth refs. Maybe these guys just had a bad night. But, they did a terrible job.
