Foul Call Reversals

Very limited info given at the game, and haven't had a chance to watch the replay yet, so would love some insight from anyone.

The video review of the elbowing foul, I am understanding can be reversed. This is news to me, becasue I though I heard numerous times in TV games that on video review the refs could only determine if it was deserving of a flagrant foul or not.

The foul on Nic and "inadvertent free throws" was more troubling. How long of a time passage can take place before such a mistake is "corrected" and even more bizzare was the fact we had possesion of the ball, got fouled, had our 2 points taken away AND LOST A POSESSION. If this game had been closer, that could be a huge deal.

Again, just looking for someone with more knowledge than me in these, because when my boys asked me what was happening, they got the dad shoulder shrug...

The giant did not connect with the elbow. No foul should have been called and the rules say when they are reviewing for a flagrant, if they find no foul occurred they can reverse the call.

As far as the free throws, they thought it was a one and one situation and turns out we were not there yet. They did what they were allowed to do and yes we did lose a possession and that is not right but apparently they did what the rules said they should do. One announcer said that after 2 dead balls you are not allowed to make the adjustment. I am not sure about that or whether there had been 2 dead balls.

LB took a pretty good elbow to the mouth from one of the refs as he was running by and LB was standing on the sideline. What exactly did the UCI coach do to get called for the technical?

Not sure about the T on the coach. I think they announcer said it was on the bench so there might have been some choice words thrown out.

Really hope that referee group isn't back Monday. Just awful in general. The guy with the military hair cut was extra special awful. He had the inadvertent whistle and total blew calls right in front of him all night. Thank god a few at the end were in our favor.

anyone see when Cannen "saved the ball" and the ball hit the baseline 1 foot out of bounds and they didn't call it out? That was awful.

Seems like we got a couple of favorable calls after they took away our points. Not sure if they were make up calls or not, but could have been.

Poorest called game of the whole season. Bad calls both ways. Just awful.

From what conference were these refs?

Ndiaye has the cleanest block you can have on Cannen. You could read Cannen's lips saying "That wasn't a foul"

Do you remember the play where someone had pinned their giant under the basket and MK tried to go in and dunk and got fouled, the coach turned to the students and yelled something like 'that wasn't a foul'. It was hilarious and got that students more fired up.

I think it was soon after the technical and I saw him turn and respond to the students - exactly what coaches tell their players never to do.

I saw that and started to laugh. The students got more riled up. It was great to see the students getting to the coach...fun to watch.

Ben Moore got stripped clean driving to the basket, no traffic around just him and the defender. Ball hit ben's knee, hit ben's foot and went out of bounds. The defender was a foot away on the other side of Ben by the time it hit ben's foot. SMU ball.

I loved that after one of his clean blocks that called a foul Fran on tv said that the foul was called for being 7'6.

That's what I thought. It seemed pretty blatant, actually.
