Rick Hart

Postby sacklunch » Fri Mar 21, 2014 12:17 am

Just stopped to reflect on it when I got the email for reserved seating for round 3 - Rick is a phenomenal Athletic Director. He gets it!

I feel like the lines of communication are wide open. When feedback is given to the department it is either executed or thoroughly explained. His blog has been great and I feel like they have actual and tangible news - not just coach speak.

Just wanted to reflect on how lucky we are to have Rick who continues to improve the way the athletic department is run.

Agree 100%. A lot of the haters on here have negative things to say about him which are always misinformed vitriol. He's a great AD and we're lucky to have him,

He can blog and twitter his [deleted] off, but I suspect most everyone will agree that his legacy will be forged in about 8 months.

I'm a huge fan of his and I care far more about basketball than football, but I have to admit you're probably right.

True but I love how he is sending June the Hawaiian Idol to "recruiting standards school" just so he can fire his [deleted] for June's biggest failure. I think he might just get it-and I think he wished he had the resources to get rid of June this year

The department is starting to get it, they are starting to show that they understand big time production value. We obviously still have improvements to make (jerseys, in game entertainment, merchandise inventory etc) little things that I know truly believe will improve as we boost our profile. This mainly applies to basketball though.

If he makes a good, forward thinking and aggressive hire for football and things don't quite work out, but basketball continues to elevate, he will still will have been the most influential AD in decades.

Rick is doing a great job. He's an asset to SMU. He's young, innovative, he listens, and here's the thing we need to worry about the most: how long can we keep him before a huge SEC or other school is sniffing around the hilltop to steal him away? He's very Mal Moore like and that's a very good thing. Change takes time and he's already changed a lot. Sure, he needs to unload JJ, but give him time, and he'll get it done the right way. After all the geldings are already gone!

It was kinda humorous that a guy who comes from an SEC family, whose dad is an SEC Athletic Director, who wants to be an SEC Athletic Director, allegedly decided to move all the way down to Dallas just so he could be Gerald's spineless puppet and torpedo his own career.

Rick connects with the fans. That in itself makes a good AD

Yes, in that respect he does a good job. Just connect w/ the community. Our past AD's - not very good at that.
