With UT getting destroyed today, what do the end of year Texas rankings look like?
1. SMU
2. Stephen F Austin
3. Baylor
4. Texas
5. Tech
Last - TCU !!!

SFA second??? we beat them at least 8 times out of 10. Win more than one game in the tourney before you start blowing them up

They're in the 2nd round of the NCAA. We're in the 2nd round if the NIT. Even though I think we would beat them, they deserve to be ranked ahead of us.

Not so sure about that one

29 wins in a row plus a win in the tourney against a really good VCU team counts for a lot.

But come on, SFA is only in because of the automatic bid. The crucial 4-pt play was a lot of luck against VCU. I don't really see them as a real Cinderella, even though I saw the upset over VCU coming

VCU is overrated this year, still riding the high of Chaka smart. Smu would take them any day of the week.

They only got in because they were an automatic bid but you saw them beating a 5 seed? That's a confusing statement.

After watching SFA play a few times, I have to say I'd have to actually see us play them to decide. They're getting a lot of flak (deservedly) because their competition wasn't that great, but they played plenty of teams better than USF or Temple and haven't lost since November... although obviously they didn't have to deal with the higher level opponents. We're probably more talented, but that's a solid team they have.
I'd love to see them make it to the Sweet 16...
Directly on topic, SMU will have to win the NIT to make top 3 in Texas if I'm ranking the teams. That said, I think we'd beat any of them on our home court.

Seriously, how about we just start with top 25 wins and go from there.

VCU beat Virginia at Virginia. We would have problems against VCU because we have problems against teams that press. It would be an interesting game.

I have them in my bracket beating VCU and UCLA. Florida takes care of them after that.

more realistic than the original post, but let's win the NIT before we claim to be better than Texas. Coach Brown is still building this program...we haven't completely arrived yet or we wouldn't be playing in the NIT. I'm pleased with the progress SMU has made but not ready to be arrogant about it
