Great video. Pretty sure that's the most that have stayed to sing Varsity for any sport in the past 30+ years.

And, I might be banished forever as a PFer for writing this, but making everyone sing Varsity is really dumb. I'm sure most players don't really care about any of that. They want to just go celebrate. To sing this old song that's really slow, I don't know. Just seems . . . eh . . . you know?

Love, love, love SMU. No doubt about that. Give money, etc. Hell I'm wearing an SMU shirt and watch while typing this. But I've never gotten the singing Varsity thing. Maybe other schools do that. I don't know.

The cops were serious about keeping the kids of the court until the visitors left the court. Good to see that after some of the occurences at other arenas this year.

We haven't been doing it too long, at least as a formal thing with the teams and students. Maybe 10-15 years?

In fact, before that we used to always make fun of Texas for doing it.

Varsity is fine. It's a cool tradition and nobody is too obsessive about it. Unless you're a player or a band member you can skip it safely without any sideways glances. That's not always true at some other schools.
