Two neat things from end of last night's game

1. When the students ran on the court and the players celebrated, I noticed the Cal players all lined up waiting to shake hands and looking understandably dejected while the SMU players were being mobbed/mobbing each other. But the first guy to come over and shake their hands in line was Markus. For all of the talk about his "maturity" last year and leading up to this season, I thought that said a lot. He's grown a lot this year and the sky is the limit for him.

2. At the very end after the buzzer sounds, you can see RGT for a brief second or two on the broadcast going wild high fiving people. It's pretty funny, and he was obviously genuinely excited

I thought I had noticed that also. Classy move in the midst of all of the excitement.

I thought it was also "neat" that SMU won on a perfectly executed full court called play from the bench. Its fun to watch the play develop strategically

x100

Tough thing to do with everything on the line. Looked like a big-time program on that play.

On the ESPN broadcast, Fraschilla called it the KU or KSU play.

The Kansas play. Larry called it that as well on the post game show.

First time all year they ran it in game.

Didn't Markus refer to it as "Mustang" in an interview? He might have been talking about something else, because I definitely heard Larry refer to it as "Kansas".

I never heard any talk about Kennedy's "maturity" last year. I know he had surgery on his shoulder and he lost some weight but that was about it.

On that play that quick guard of theirs gets tangled and falls down. That might have been a really fortunate thing for us...

Looks like he gets pushed down by his own guy.

Regardless, I think there would have been two guys in nic's face had he not fallen down.

Funny how I completely misremembered the play until I watched it on replay. I thought it was improvised, but it was definitely a called play, albeit the option was most likely to the post instead of the three .

That's what Fran referred to it as.
