what is it with our opponents repeatedly making tough, lights out shots at Moody? Russ Smith was making circus shots, so was Cal last night, even UC Irvine and LSU guards were lights out. Heck,i recall Houston being on fire. Whats the deal? our defense might not be the best, but these are tough shots these guys are hitting routinely. Is Moody a great shooting atmosphere that is comfortable for opponents because of the lighting/intimacy? Is our crowd so electric and rowdy that its firing up the opponents to play their best? Must be something, because its been crazy how some of these guys have been going off with mustangs draped all over them or from deep.

Russ smith said soft rims. Maybe we need to knock the rims around a bit.

I've noticed the same thing Hoop Fan.
We turn the opposition into 3 pt all stars; however, you will note only one team has beaten
us in Moody.
One other thing I have noticed is that the Mustang defender on the opposite side of the ball
sags in on the center to clog up the middle and when the other team whips the ball around
our offside defender is not near the shooter (Russ Smith, etc.) and it gives them a wide open
shot.
You can't stop all 3 pt shots and you are right - we are sometimes hanging all over the shooter and
he still knocks down the shot.

Also tough when one of the guards on the floor most of the game is only 5'9"

Good point East Coast. But right now I wouldn't trade him for a 7 ft shooting guard.

I just think we've seen some of the best guards in the country come through here.

Good rims? Nice lighting? Used to have opponents with career highs all
the time. 3 pointers rain at Moody.
Im still scratching my head why wasn't Manuel on Cobbs the last 2 shots.!?!! That guy has a sick step back.

I was yelling at my TV for LB to switch Manuel or Nick onto Cobbs the last few minutes.
