I don't remember who asked my opinion on whether or not he was jumping, but he declared. Thought I'd throw this out there, I still don't think it has much impact on Turner from what I'm hearing...

Sure he will, but what's your source? Not seeing it reported anywhere.

ESPN was reporting it...? Now it's not up and they're saying no decision yet

That is the latest that has been publicly reported.

OBF- where do you think Turner is headed?

UT. They were the favorite except that Barnes was on the hot seat before the season and early on. With the uncertainty, I thought he would head elsewhere from everyone I've talked to. Now it's looking more stable and more likely that he ends up at UT.

Makes zero sense to me. It's a football school that could care less about basketball. Big 12 wise I would go to KU or OSU before Texas. He'll play in front of 1/2 empty arenas for a mediocre Xs and Os coach. SMU makes waaaay too much sense here, but I suppose playing time might be an issue here for him

I hear what you're saying. And I don't know what the crowds were like when Durant was there. But I do know Texas would be downright scary if they land him. They return virtually everyone, have a proven coach that has put a lot of guys in the NBA, have top-notch facilities and a brand name. Oklahoma State was leading for a good chunk in the winter, not so sure that's the case anymore from people I talked to recently. A guy I'm close to that really has the inside on the recruitment is saying if he had to pick a school right now, he'd handicap with Texas, so take it fwiw.

Don't shoot the messenger. I do on the positive side think SMU has a puncher's chance, which is a lot more than I would've said 3 months ago. I'm not an analyst though either as a disclaimer, just reporting what I hear from people that do this [deleted] for a living.

I get the feeling he winds up at UT even though SMU is a hell of a fit. I also assume there is a lot going on behind the scenes, influencers in his circle probably pulling him in different directions and what not.

But to stay home and play on center stage in Dallas, Texas in front of stars and rabid students alike, under the guidance of a hall of fame coach, just seems too good to be true...he could put his footprint on this program forever with Mudiay and the rest of the guys.

As I said in another thread, a current player told a friend of mine that he expects Myles to end up at UT or KU, but who really knows.

The fact that Rick Barnes has not gotten fired at some point during his tenure for lack of success baffles me daily.
