Jordan Tolbert is transferring from Texas Tech to SMU, per a source. Averaged 10 & 6 a game last year and may be able to play right away.

With Larry Brown, it's almost like every morning is Christmas morning.

Great news. I felt we needed to bring one more player in. Hopefully he can play right away.

Now with one scholarship left we can concentrate on a shooter like Pat McCaw who also has good handles.

This is great news! But, why do I feel that the NCAA will make sure that he cannot play this next year?

Just because you are paranoid does not mean they aren't out to get you.

The NCAA did this with Rutgers last year in a similar situation so we have that to refer to. I like our chances.

Saw this in the video description:
Jordan Tolbert had one of the most significant freshman campaigns in Red Raider history. He led the team in scoring (11.5 points) and rebounding (5.7). Tolbert was also a standout in the classroom, earning selection to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll for both the fall and spring semesters, as well as being named to the 2011-12 Dean's List.

Looks like he kinda plateaued at Tech. Hopefully Brown and the assistants can break through that. Great to hear he is a good student.

I am not sure this kid fills an appropriate role on this team. We really need a back court player who has two years of eligibility to transition through the potentially top heavy 2016 class bringing/sustaining experience assuming Mudiay is a one and done. Also, a true center who could transition for at least a year on through Moreia and Turner if he would come and be a one and done. Seems like were have sufficient depth at the forward positions were we are young, athletic and now with good experience.

Huge GET, can't be understated, need the swing forward. Guards will be fine. Mudiay adds all kinds of depth even though it doesn't appear so. Only thing I'd worry about is Sterling transferring when he sees the writing on the wall next year.

You make some good points. I've always felt, though, that we needed an athletic replacement for Shawn Williams and wondered if that would be B. Moore. I like this guy's athleticism and experience. I do, agree, however that it would be good to find a center and shooter/handler that would be here for a couple of years that would sort of be a "glue player" tying Nic and Eman's leaving to the 2015 class. But I like Sterling Brown and, if Frazier continues to improve, we should be okay. (assuming they both stay 2 more years).
