Posted: Tue Apr 01, 2014 1:23 pmInteresting that 2 years ago he would not move back home and take the SMU job. Now he bolts from Marquette and heads to VA Tech. Guy really miscalculated his future.

How so? He's in the best basketball league, maybe ever, now. He has an amazing practice facility, and can take anyone w/a pulse. He recruits tons of jucos which works great at va tech.

No doubt hoopmanx is correct. But it's also not really fair to judge him for staying at Marquette, given that at the time of the SMU opening the Big East was still a great place to be. (Big reason we got Larry Brown...) Now that the Big East has taken a huge step back, to the benefit of the ACC, it seems like he made a great choice moving to Virginia Tech.
I really like Buzz. I was definitely disappointed when his name came up and we didn't get him, but I think things have turned out just fine for both parties...
