SMU 2014-2015 depth and rotations

Postby purduedavie » Sat Apr 05, 2014 11:36 am

First off thanks to all of you guys for taking a Purdue fan on your board, SMU is my second favorite team without a doubt now. Anyways, how do those that have more knowledge of the team than I see the starting lineup and bench rotations next year? It seems that SMU will be plenty deep but sometimes that risks alienating players and messes up the chemistry of the game by playing too many guys, can some of you help out with a lineup and like a 6-10 bench rotation of projected minutes played by the reserves, I realize this will all change if Turner comes on board which would be awesome! Thank You Pony fans!

Just have to wonder if anyone leaves on their own: Head or Yanick perhaps. Obviously Turner changes everything. Really need a pure shooter to counter everyone else who has one. Frazier hasn't shown that to me. I guess Nic will be shooting more off the wing. ?

Nic Moore
Sterling Brown
Markus Kennedy
Emmunel Mudiay
Jordan Tolbert (if he can play immediately) - be a nice upgrade to Shawn around the basket.

Bench:
Ben Moore
Keith Frazier
Yanick
Head
Cunningham
Manuel

If Turner commits a lineup of Turner, Kennedy, Brown, Mudiay and Moore would be nasty. Those 5 with Ben Moore, Frazier, Manuel, and Cunningham would have the potential to be a top 5 squad!

Thanks and glad to have you onboard, purduedavie. I think we get Turner. I just think there's too much smoke for it not to happen. Regardless, Eman, Nic and Markus will be three of the five starters with KF, Sterling, Tolbert, Cannen, Yanick, Ryan and Turner mixed in. Again, depth will be our strength. The key will be how the guys react to the expectations. I believe Eman will be a leader the moment he steps on campus and he will be the key. He's such a dynamic guard the likes of which we've never seen at SMU. It's going to be fun. I'm confident every home game will be a sellout regardless of the opponent. I'm glad I've got my tickets and I can't wait for November to get here.

That's the squad right there, you're right. Turner has a pretty consistent outside shot actually. If Sterling can get a consistent shot going, that's a sweet sixteen team. With more meat on the bones to B Moore, Cannen, and Frazier that's real nasty depth as well.

Maybe he starts when we need to go big (for Sterling) otherwise he comes in to give MK a rest. I don't know, but a great problem to have. :-)
