First reference was the teeth-grinding "Southern Methodist" but then the rest were "SMU".

Nice pub but as one SMU fan pointed out in the comments, it's very shortsighted for the writer to not even mention Temple. Yes, they had a bad year but that shouldn't take away the fact that they made the NCAA tourney six straight years prior. They have great fans in a city that loves basketball.

Temple has 31 NCAA appearances, 7 elite 8 appearances and 9 conference championships but one bad year and they add nothing to the profile of our conference?? That's dumb.

I'll never forgive Dana O'neil for saying Green Bay should've been in the NCAA tourney over SMU.

Overlooking Temple as a traditional basketball power that will bounce back take's some cred. away from this article. And O'Neil can go get bent for saying Green Bay should have been in the tourney instead of SMU.
