The kid looked awesome (Baby) at the North-South all-star game. Scored a game-high 21 points. Went hard to the rim, had a few really nice defensive plays where he used his quickness and arm length to knock balls away. But what I really noticed — and what we need at SMU — is the smooth, natural stroke this kid has on his outside jumper. Comparisons to Chad Elsey are inevitable -- and in inaccurate. Miller isn't quite as thick as Elsey was, but he seems strong. And his shot has a lot more arc on it (pssst .... Jeryl: Arc is a good thing on a jumper) Seems better defensively than Elsey, although maybe not quite the leaper. All in all, a great showing, and promising for the future at SMU. Nice pickup by Dement.
