So Cornish eliminates us, but what about Larry Austin his fellow Tennessee commit who also is searching for a new home. Haven't heard anything on him. And unlike Cornish, we had initially offered him before his Tennessee commitment

Think SMU has the point guard spot covered with Emmanuel Mudiay and Nic Moore

Makes sense - I suppose even if E M is a one and done we would have opportunities for a good PG from 2015 class.

Already have a commit from 2015. . . PG, Sedrick Barefield from California.

They want to run Nic at the 2. That is where he plays next year, not at the point.

LB's stated philosophy is that only 2 positions exist: guard and center. I think if Austin is willing to play 2 our point or both off the bench next year, we should try to get him committed. My optimistic side thinks the Cornish news might mean we found a better fit

My thinking is SMU doesn't want to give a last minute scholarship for 2014, which would affect the 2015 recruiting class. The 2015 recruiting class is where Larry Brown/staff will get their money's worth.

I agree that the 2015 class will be huge but I believe if the staff can still add another serviceable player for next season they'll pull the trigger. We are getting the most talented player to ever suit up for SMU next year only. We've got to put everything we can around him now.

Give it to walk on Kevin Dunleavy. Or a player that has already graduated, but has one year of eligibility left (like Tolbert). Other than that Larry Brown/staff are already focused on the 2015 class. Probably won't give the last 2014 scholarship to an underclassmen that would affect the decision of a "monster" 2015 class.
