Elijah Thomas tweeted this pic of McQuaid. Calling him out for wearing Ohio St shorts. Kinda funny. I think it may come down to SMU and OSU for Thomas.

haha, thank you for that. I've heard positive things coming out of the WHAC lately in regard to Thomas. I think you're right. Landing Grandstaff and Mitchell sticking was huge. Wish we could keep our own talent in-state, Ohio is stacked this year and next. Losing Kennard to Duke hurt bad but he never was an OSU fan and Carlton Bragg going to UK most likely is going to sting as well.

Most of the country's top 2015 & 2016 basketball players are in Frisco today at the EYBL - Dallas.
I saw Grandstaff, McQuaid and Mitchell play this morning. Grandstaff and McQuaid had almost identical numbers - 18 pts and 6 boards for McQuaid, 18 pts and 6 assists for Grandstaff. But McQuaid had a much more efficient game - 7-of-13 from the field. Grandstaff was gunning - 6-of-19 from the field. McQuaid was more willing to attack the rim, and did a good job of drawing a couple of charges. Grandstaff settled for his jumper too often. I was really impressed with their Texas Elite teammate PG Jawun Evans. He's an excellent floor general.
I only caught a little of the Texas Titan's game, which was loaded with players of interest. Mitchell, who looks like a linebacker and is very athletic, struggled with his shot. He finished with 6 pts on 3-of-11 shooting. I was very impressed with Tyler Davis. He's a load in the middle and crafty around the basket, finishing with 20 pts and 9 boards. As usual, Hogg was very good. He can drift at times but he's special. I HOPE we are still on him. He had 17 pts and 6 boards. King McClure was very average.
Overall, two guys that stood out in the morning action that I caught - Allonzo Trier (2015) and Malik Monk (2016), both guys we've offered. Trier is a scoring machine. He's a shooter and a slasher. A big time talent. No way he's the 38th player in the class, should be much higher. If you let me pick any uncommitted player in the 2015 we're pursuing, It'd be Trier. Monk, who took an unofficial to SMU yesterday, is electric. SG lefty who reminds me of Brandon Jennings. He's #12 player in the 2016 class. He had 29 pts in a double OT win.

game 2 - McQuaid was the game's leading scorer with 22 pts going 6-of-10 on 3s. Grandstaff had 20 pts on 6-of-19 shooting for the second straight game.

Jawan Evans is going to be real good imo as well. I've seen him once and he stood out, that was last summer. Plays a very sound game and made really good decisions for someone so young from what I recall.

If you get a chance, check out the King James team out of Ohio. Real solid. All-Ohio,I believe it's the "Red" team, has Esa Ahmad, the kid I kept talking up down at Flyin' to the Hoops this winter and on his state tourney run.

Should've mentioned it before, King James has VJ King, #7 player in 2016, big time shooter, solid wing. They also have Kyle Aherns who is going to be a solid 4* caliber prospect when it's said and done. They also have AJ Harris, top 100 prspect, committed to OSU but he's a real quick PG. Super short or would be much more favorably ranked I think. His height definitely limits his ability to defend like some of the bigger guards. And Kipper Nichols is a nice young player that I can see blowing up with offers nationally when that one is done.

King James played Texas Elite in the second game. I noticed King- a talented kid. He can shoot. I was more impressed with Monk, but it's just one game. Monk was playing against 2016 kids and King against 2015 kids. Both very talented
OBF, I can't believe how good Trier is. Whatever school gets him is in for a treat. If you give us Barefield, McQuaid and Trier, we're top 5 in 2015. Kid is a stud. After what I saw today I went back and looked at his highlight clips. If you can show me a better scorer in the 15 class, I'll be shocked.

Kennard is up there. Watched him drop 39 on Justin Jackson with ease. But you're right, Trier is a scorer for sure. Kid can really play. I wish I could've been down there this weekend for EYBL. Would've been nice with so many top teams there but it happens. For the record, I think SMU is going to have a monster haul this class, if they can break into some of the Texas groups, they'll be in great shape but I think Brown is going to bring in guys coast to coast if he has to as we saw with Barefield. There's enough kids talking SMU up that they're going to land a few just by sheer volume. Going to be an exciting recruiting class. Funny how the novelty of landing top 100 players nationally has worn off already, all about top 50 or better recruits now
If Kennard is ever in your area, check him out, flat out unreal scorer and he can shoot the lights out. I hate Duke, so jealous.

I was there yesterday...great talent all around and watched Trier play and he is a very unique talent to say the least. Sneaky good shooter but he wants the ball at all times.

What good will it do to ask them to remove it? Other than having kids on the team get ticked off at SMU? Nobody sees AAU logos fwiw...I wouldn't sweat this one.
