In a story on the Tigers' upgraded schedule, reporter Jason Smith says:

The Tigers will also play a home-and-home against SMU, which despite finishing third in the AAC last season failed to make the NCAA tournament due in large part to a weak nonconference schedule.

The Mustangs, however, are expected to be ranked in the top 10 nationally this preseason and will likely be picked to win the AAC with a pair of all-conference performers returning in Nic Moore and Markus Kennedy and the addition of five-star point guard prospect Emmanuel Mudiay.

FYI, their OOC schedule includes Wichita State at a neutral location, Baylor at a tournament in Las Vegas, Okie State and SFA at home, and the Zags in Spokane.

The story is behind a firewall and I don't know the access policy for non-subscribers, but just in case here's the URL:

I tell you what. Let's divide up the western U.S. I'll take, oh, Jackson Hole and Vail. You can have Vegas and Reno.

When did anyone ever say they enjoyed Reno or didn't enjoy the others?

And Las Vegas is a western city, so it would seem I get about 80% of the continental US. Including TX and SMU.

Deal.

That shouldn't be any big news. We all know your committee goes out there and loads up on hookers and blow before carefully considering each decision.
