My buddy heard a rumor that we may be playing at UT. Now that would be a hell of a time.
It's from a fairly credible source, but please take it with a grain of salt.

That would be fun! And tickets are VERY easy and cheap to get at the Erwin Center

I would love that, but let's get them here this year and Austin next.

AT Texas?!?
I would turn that down (we are already kissing Baylor's [deleted] in Football - no more getting pushed around -- we are in the drivers seat for bball . . . need to start taking that attitude).
Meet you in the Tourney, if you're good enough to make it. We'll beat your [deleted] there then.

How is playing a road game scheduled as part of a home and home kissing someone's [deleted]? You are going to have to explain that one for me.

How are people not stoked about this?
I am jumping for joy. UT is going to be much improved this year and should be a great challenge. We should back the place.

Because you made it sound like SMU was going to play @ Texas only for a $$$ payday. And, not a home-and-home series with Texas. If it's a home-and-home, then I'm stoked. If it's just a $$$ game to play at Texas. . . Eff it , not interested!

Would this be the first basketball or football game against UT post SWC?

Not excited about this at all. Make them come to Moody on a return trip (which wont happen) or tell them to kick rocks.
Our OOC scheduling should be focused on building SMU as a national brand- IU, Michigan, and Gonzaga are all great ways to do this. Scheduling Texas does little for us IMO

I respectfully disagree. Playing Texas (and beating them) would put us on the state map as being serious players. Beating them would help us in recruiting and it would earn us some serious respect. Plus the media would be all over it

They would never agree to play at Moody because none of their fans would get to go. It would only be be played at the AAC

our schedule for next year is already strong enough, no way i play them at Austin without them agreeing to a return game. As much as i'd like to see the game, i don't think Larry Brown or SMU need to take a game like this at this point. Play them on a neutral floor in Houston or San Antonio if you want, but no Austin trips without a Dallas game (AAC is fine).
