Working on Lindy's preseason basketball magazine, writing on SMU, and holy... SMU's gonna be a monster. Legit 11-deep, star-studded monster.

Maybe Greg hasn't heard that the gang of 30 thinks the schedule stinks.

If you promise to stop whining, we'll let you come out of timeout

I had forgotten about that old Doyle article. Reading back over it is funny - I don't think I have ever read anything so incorrect. Hindsight is nice - but I think he went really deep into wrongs-ville on that one - and I don't think it was that hard to see even back then.

So based on his track record, the fact that he now thinks we are awesome sort of has me worried.

He is always writing outlandish [deleted] to get attention. He's like Skip Bayless without a TV show

I'm not sure there is a media member I hate more, which pretty much makes him Al-Qaeda

Don't think too much about it. We've come on pretty fast. I think the idea of SMU with Larry Brown being a national power - even for a year - still seems weird to people. Heck, I love it and it still seems foreign to me.

Dan Wolken of USA Today sent out negative tweets shortly after the LB hire that SMU would rue the day they made the LB hire. On the two anniversary of his tweet I reminded him of his comments. To his credit, he replied with a good-natured tweet that he definitely missed that one.

As for Doyel, he is the worst. The Slip Bayless comparison is spot on.

Gregg Doyel, CBS @GreggDoyelCBS: NBC in Connecticut: Calhoun's retiring. If UConn hoops were a stock, now's the time to sell. Dump it.
