What happens with Mudiay's brother?

I don't think we'd run him off as a senior, but I don't know what the situation is to be honest.

Regardless, I wonder if he feels like persona non grata around the program to some extent now. Obviously the only reason he's here is because of his brother, and now that didn't pan out. Pretty huge waste of a schollie for two seasons that could have been used to address PG depth

If we need the scholarship for some reason, he needs to be converted to an "academic scholarship" and his days on the team are over. His brother should send us a "donation" when he starts to get paid to cover the $100K+ that SMU will have footed the bill for.

He's useless to us now. Cut him outright.

Dont think you take the bad PR of running him off as a Sr. unless you've got a replacement who can contribute this year. I don't know what the grad transfer/JC market is like right now but I can't imagine it's very good so late in the game

running him off would be bad mojo. he's a senior w/ a year in the system already. that said, the right thing here would be for him to step down given all that's happend. he was good enough for a DII scholarship before SMU, he could go back and still get an education while playing basketball.

i don't think we could get anyone in time, but there may be some JuCo PG out there or someone who graduated and still has a year of eligiblity left like martin.

Hey, we are all big boys here. We gambled, thought we won, got hosed by UA/agents who weren't afraid of [deleted] SMU and Larry Brown off, and lost. You honor the scholarship and move on. End of story..........

Don't run him off unless you have someone to actually use his scholarship. Although part of me wants to kick him to the curb, but that's a waste of energy.

Running him off would be a very bad idea.... That said, if we can find some JUCO PG somewhere who can hold on the ball better the Flash Manuel, I wouldn't be opposed to moving him to an academic scholly.

Not sure anyone is really out there and I don't think that LB and co would do that, but if Nic goes down or gets into foul trouble, this team is hosed.

School needs to stop giving scholarships to brothers who are never going to play.............both times basketball has done that, the "star" player never really lived up to all of the hype.

Perhaps the Chinese team will offer JMM a really good deal in hopes of landing Eman...

Well, if he stays, can LB at least consider never playing him in garbage time? The other end of the bench guys actually played well for the most part, but this guy's Bull in the China shop routine was just a flat out embarrassment.

I really hope he packs it up and accompanies little brother to Europe.

Eman's brother is a great kid. He may never contribute to the SMU basketball team; however, at some point in the future he will become an SMU success story and return huge dividends to the school. He fully understands his situation, but for a kid like him the dividend for SMU is in the future.
