along with the Stars...

Also, this was on the DMN site.

Ponies in a better place than the Stars right now imo. Stars definitely are closer than the other pro teams but need to wait a couple years for their defensive prospects to mature still.

It's going to be a fun winter in Dallas. While true that the West in the NBA is a beast, this Mavericks roster has shaped up similarly to the 2011 squad. No one thought that was a championship team but they had all of the right pieces around Dirk. Not saying it'll happen but there's definitely reason to be excited.
But at the same time, I'm thrilled that SMU once again is my top priority when playing on the same night as the Mavs.
Moral of the story: the season can't get here fast enough and I can't wait to spend my nights at Moody and the AAC. And I'll root for the Stars of course, but they get neglected due to basketball taking priority.

Has anyone done the math on how much SMU will make on basketball this year? Based on my ticket price and donation level it is $9,100,000 (6,500 tickets times $1,000 donation times $400 per ticket) I believe we have to be in the $12,000,000 range or higher

SMU only sells about 5,500 tickets at full price. The rest are for student, recruits, opposing team, VIPs.
I make a $500 donation for 2 tickets in 204. But I've been a season ticket holder for many years.

Moody is the best sporting ticket in the metroplex. Must see.

yes, not a stretch from the dumb Goose. Rangers are the worst in baseball and the Cowboys will be 8-8 or worse. Not sure I can see Romo holding up. Mavs will be touch and go but Carlisle is a genius.

Hoops will be huge again and the HOT ticket.

Rangers are having a down year due to injury. They'll be back next year, you watch.

Love that SMU basketball's getting the local and national love.

JD really screwed the Rangers letting Nellie Cruz go and taking on the Fielder contract- with that injury, he might not ever be right again.

This is how bad rumors get started. You cannot blame that on JD. The Rangers offered him a 1 year $15 million contact at the beginning of free agency. He turned it down. A couple of months into free agency his best offer was from Balt (1 year, $8 million). The Rangers offered the same contract and he chose Balt. That is not on JD.
