Not really SMU news but I know that LB was recruiting him. So in a way, maybe it's not such a bad thing he went to UCLA, probably can't play this year anyways.

Yes, I believe it came down to UCLA, SMU and Michigan.

Anyone know know why he was ruled ineligible? Did UCLA file an appeal like TCU did last year?

ruled a "partial qualifier" which really is outdated term. He's a non-qualifier that has still been admitted to UCLA. Has to sit out a year
