Posted: Thu May 09, 2002 4:45 pmBilly's a great guy, and I'll miss rooting for him. But he wasn't athletic enough to play in Dement's perimeter-based up-tempo style. With big guys like Simpson, Castro and Kelley around, he wasn't going to play much anyway. Good to have another scholarship.

Posted: Fri May 10, 2002 1:51 pmI guess it was a knee-jerk reaction when he was released from his commitment to Tech. "If he was good enough to sign with the Red Raiders, he can play here" -- that kind of thing. Of course, Bobby Knight didn't make any effort to keep him in Lubbock.
