Jemeil Rich Signs With New York Knicks
Former SMU standout Jemeil Rich has signed a contract with the New York Knicks, the NBA club announced Monday.
Rich, a native of Gary, Ind., lettered at SMU for three seasons (1995-1997) after spending one year at Olive Harvey College. He played in 81 games for the Ponies, averaging 11.4 points-per-game over his career, and still ranks sixth on the SMU career charts with 136 steals.
The Knicks signed six free agents - Rich, Tim James, Mark Pope, Toby Bailey, Todd Lindeman and Danny Johnson - to join the team when it opens training camp in Charleston, S.C., this week.
