Got this off the SMU website:

Jemeil Rich Signs With New York Knicks

Former SMU standout Jemeil Rich has signed a contract with the New York Knicks, the NBA club announced Monday.

Rich, a native of Gary, Ind., lettered at SMU for three seasons (1995-1997) after spending one year at Olive Harvey College. He played in 81 games for the Ponies, averaging 11.4 points-per-game over his career, and still ranks sixth on the SMU career charts with 136 steals.

The Knicks signed six free agents - Rich, Tim James, Mark Pope, Toby Bailey, Todd Lindeman and Danny Johnson - to join the team when it opens training camp in Charleston, S.C., this week.

Rich was released Wednesday by the Knicks.

Also, Jeryl Sasser's brother Jason was cut by the Sacramento Kings.
