I think the expectations have leveled off to a reasonable level since we lost Mudiay but I think the fans will be excited for the season to start.

I will never ever understand why fans discount the vaue derived from one year of maturation. These are 18-22 year old kids. SMU will be fantastic. Other than Zaga and @UConn, I don't see any likely L. Not saying they will lose those two (and won't lose elsewhere), but SMU will be salty.

My guess is because for 30 years we haven't had any talent that's maturing. Just lack of talent. A couple years ago we had the "most experienced OL in the history of college football." They still weren't really good. Just experienced at being mediocre.

So, I agree with you; shouldn't discount it. Just, here, seems like whichever revenue sport, for the most part, the experience hasn't come close to outweighing the (lack of) talent. This is obviously different.

yeah, some guys mature, and some guys have the same year of experience over and over, our guys will mature this year, though, into something special, imo.
