Sasser is still with the Magic, he played almost 30 minutes in their last exhibition game. Orlando's last 2 cuts were Peter Cornell and Obinna Ekezie, Jeryl is still on their roster.
Jeryls older brother was cut by the Kings last week, and Jemeil Rich was waived by the Knicks. Maybe your friend was thinking of one of them.
