Interesting report from Billy. Maybe KF does start at the 2, or Ben if ruled eligible.
“@BillyEmbody: #SMU basketball will have a heck of a sixth man in @jmart202. @Patrick_Engel94 profiles the Xavier transfer inside.

Comparing his numbers to Nick Russell last year per ESPN:
JMart
PPG: 11.7
RPG: 5.2
APG:1.0
FG%: 45.2
FT%: 76.9
3PT%: 37.3
Nick
PPG: 9.9
RPG: 3.4
APG: 3.2
FG%: 40
FT%: 80
3PT%: 35.8
Too lazy to pull assists:TO ratio. I believe Nick's was a bit better (more assists anyway).
So JMart is bigger (more rebounds) and a slightly better shooter.

Martin is probably still learning the offense. I am sure things could change between now and the beginning of the season.

I know we sometimes overrate who starts but it's fun to look at.
PG - Nic
SG - KF or Emelogu
SF - Sterling
PF - Markus
C - Yanick
Backup
PG - Sterling/Ben Moore/Ryan
SG - KF or Emelogu/Ryan
SF - JMart
PF - Ben Moore
C - Cannen
This is a salty 10 deep squad!

But i don't think yanick is going to sit behind Markus again - so someone will need to be center relieving him if LB plays them together. So will be interesting to see how that plays out. They both want to go pro after this season. We will need some help inside VERY soon. Wish Tolbert had been eligible.

If Yanick starts, Cannen is the only option at backup center. He frequently did it last year.

If MK leaves after this year then we will be glad Tolbert sat out this year. Even if he doesn't we will still be glad. We will be thinner next year at bigs

We will be ok if Thomas makes the hilltop home.
