We are going to be scrambling for bigs if Thomas goes to A&M

Yes, we have Tolbert for 1 year only and the Ben. I believe Markus will go pro after this year imo. We can probably get by with a JUCO add for next year only but we really need 2 quality 6'9 freshmen coming in this year.

25-50% of all CBB players transfer at some point during their college. There will be plenty of bigs to choose from that are potentially able to play next year.

It's much more important to find impact guards in CBB in my opinion... we will be fine.

Both. That is your opinion but I am going to take a wait and see approach at this point. Most of the good JC bigs are committed and now most of what we will see are leftovers.

Usually transfers have to sit one year and whose to say that we will get a top transfer that will be able to play immediately.

With the influx of European players, I don't see MK going pro unless he has an absolutely monster year which would make him a lottery or a top 15 pick.

I'm sure LB and co have a plan so I am not going to worry about it. Remember he brought in MK5 and Yanick with a flip of the hat

I am sure they have a plan but is it a backup plan or is it plan A? Yanick was not a flip of the hat. Howard had to fight for him. We lost out on others which could have helped us for the long haul. We'll wee if we end up with a Dickerson (who LB recruited) or a Yanick. Let me say this as well. Backup plans are fine if we just want to stay competitive in the AAC but they are not to good if the goal is to win a national championship.

I'm just thankful we are so worried about recruiting as that means we are a basketball school and are competitive.

True that.

I see both Nic and Markus here in '15-16... we should have great teams this year and next. Worried about the big rotation beyond next year but I have confidence in the staff to go find talent.

We are a football school (wait until our team picks up again), and A&M proved football schools can beat "basketball schools" for top rated recruits.

uh no. A football school is a school that has a reasonable shot at winning a NC. That will never happen at SMU in our lifetime.

So
Given the dynamics of collegefootbal there are a lot of schools that do not meet your criteria of a football school. Wisconsin, Michigan state, West Virginia, Clemson, Syracuse, texas tech, Georgia tech, Iowa, Boise state, BYU, Utah, OSU, and the list goes on. There are only about 15 school or so by my estimate that have the resources, coaching, and recruiting base to have a "reasonable chance of winning a national championship.
