Lost to Christian brothers tonight 74-70 at FedEx Forum. Wow. I know it's just an exhibition but for the conference's sake (and our SOS) I hope this was an aberration

Not good for the AAC. Hopefully they were just experimenting with lineups during that game.

Pastner has been talking down this team since their secret practice this past weekend. Says players aren't playing to their potential (duh) and aren't playing as a team. He took away the jerseys with player's name to reinforce the team concept.
Buzz says the team is strong inside with Goodwin and Nichols but everything else is up in the air, including finding a player who can hit threes. Apparently Buzz knows what he's talking about.
Pastner's coaching has taken hits periodically on the local message boards and chat shows, but he quietened it down last year by beating some ranked teams for the first time since he became a head coach and by making a run in March. The boo birds are back at it tonight.
As for playing a D2 school, Memphis has traditionally played exhibitions and the occasional regular season game with Christian Brothers and LeMoyne Owen, the other local D2 school, as a way of helping fund their programs. It builds a lot of community goodwill for the program.

One thing about Tiger High... they're always good for a laugh. Fixing your toilet, delivering your pizza on time, or spelling words with more than one syllable? Not so much.

I think we need to put this in perspective. While we play individuals like Paul Quinn, Memphis actually stretched the limit and took on brothers. They should be commended for their willingness to take the chance.
