Best all around basketball player at SMU that I can remember. Anyone think of anyone better? The guy does everything.

Why did they take away his double-double. They put 10 rebounds on the board after he hit the floor to get a loose ball off the rim but got tied up. He had possession though

ESPN box score shows he had 22 and 11.

Ben Moore reminds me of
"the Big Smooth" --Sam Perkins

But Ben is way more athletic. Sleepy Sam was a big part of that 88 Mavs team that pushed the Lakers to 7 in the WCF.

Last year I said he reminded me of a skinny Charles Barkley because he was very effective working the post and making room with leans, etc. That feels like a horrible comparison now because he was starting his attack from further out last night.

“@franfraschilla: Remember name Ben Moore from SMU. Lightly recruited out of Chicago, had productive 1st year. Last night, 22 & 11 in place of Markus Kennedy.”

Someone cautioned in another thread not to take too much from this given that it's Lamar, and they are right but there were some things Ben Moore was doing last night that just seemed like they would translate no matter who we play. So much sound decision making, so much touch around the basket. Granted we won't face a lot of small teams like we did last night, so will have to work a lot harder for boards.

Watching the guys occasionally run a high low post offense last night, it just seemed like there was so much potential in that set given the high basketball IQ and passing skills (not to mention jumpers) of our big guys.

He's so skilled. Love him. And he now has to do it consistently and show up against top competition.

He is nuts. Larry has the perfect place for him now. High post top of the key. I am not sure I have seen a 6'9 forward dribble penetrate and dish like him. He also had 5 assists. Nuts

What's so great-is that he is physically NOT ready for the NBA-he's a late bloomer and we'll probably have him for all 4 years
