Wins against ARK and MI are ones that are now even more necessary.

Do we have MK back for Ann Arbor on Dec 20?

Finals end Dec. 17th, so if his professors grade fast there is a good chance (assuming he makes the grades)

Grades should be posted by then, so unless there are new issues he should return for Michigan

I wouldn't get too hopeful about that MI game. After the exam layoff and either without MK or having him playing his 1st game, I just hope we are competitive on national TV.

The first game after exams is usually hard to watch

Talked to a friend on the faculty today (who is a fan of athletics) and was told that MK could not start playing until the first day of the spring semester which is January 19. Hopefully that's not correct as he would miss Michigan, Cincinnati, Memphis and a couple of other AAC games. Has anybody else heard this?

If that is the case this thing might be headed back to the NIT.

This has happened many times over the years at SMU-if he has the right courses and grades then he is eligible on the day grades are posted.

That has not been the case in the past I do not think. Is your friend as negative about life as you? Maybe that is why he/she said that.

Seems we had one a few years back and we anxiously waited for the grade to be posted for him to be eligible. They posted his grade but he could not start immediately because there were still some finals that had not been completed for other students. I thought once all classes were through he was eligible.

Then again it is near year end and I still have not made my annual one mistake.

didn't we have a case where the grades were posted but an SMU administrator wasn't available to certify the grades for 1-2 days. I want to say it was the transfer from Georgia Tech who was academically ineligible at Georgia Tech and finished his 1 year transfer residency at midterm. SMU will have to certify grades to NCAA after they are posted

That may be the one I am thinking of.

Mohammad Faye

from smumustangs.com roster:

"Transfer: missed the first seven games due to transfer rule...first game was at Texas A&M on Dec. 17..."
