I'm not an expert, but these guys just don't seem to have made an impact to me. Am I missing something? It seems like there were much higher expectations for them than what they have delivered on the court so far.

Ben E barely played last night and Martin looks lost.

It's early but I would've expected more. I don't think anybody really knows what the role is right now

They just look lost in the system. Team is not meshing well. I know it is early and I am hoping this seven game home stretch will help this team get back on track. A hostile Moody will help...

JMart's play has surprised me. BenE not so much (he's been in the system a VERY short period of time). But JMart is a seasoned vet. I have a feeling his ankle and/or his "wind" is not 100% quite yet. I would still start him (and definitely Sterling).

Martin and Ben E. having been practicing in this system about the same amount of time. Both got here in the summer.

I'm pretty sure that Larry said that Martin enrolled late and has not had the whole summer with the team. Plus he missed a lot of time and both scrimmages because of his ankle.
I would expect him to adapt over the next few games and be a solid contributor.

I anyone got here late you would think it would be Ben E. because he did not even decide to come to SMU until after Mudiay went pro over the summer..

I am well aware of the timing of their decisions. That does not mean Justin enrolled at the beginning of the summer and practiced with them all summer. I specifically remember Larry talking about how Justin enrolled "late." That may have been just the last part of summer school - not sure.

I do not think Martin enrolled late. He decided not to enroll early. They probably both came in at the same time.

We have a lot of long SG/SFs that are pretty much the same player. Frazier may shoot better than Brown, Brown does everything else a little better etc. Ben E is pretty much like Brown and JMart is non-descript. Tough to define roles when all these kids offer the same thing roughly

i still think Emelogu will be a key player for us down the stretch.. but he needs to find his jumper, but i like his game. tough, hard-nosed kid

Agreed, but it could become a strength eventually because with all the touch fouls that are called now, the wing is a really important position. Our big struggle (and I missed the last two games, so take it for what it is worth) is getting that 3 to contribute to rebounding. Martin has potential, and Sterling can do it. I would expect to see those two rotate at the three the rest of the way, and keep Ben E and Keith at the 2.
