I am typically a realist (and borderline pessimist) in relation to SMU sports. Regardless of good times or bad, I do come out and support both football and basketball. In a related story, both drive me to consume adult beverages.

That said, I have to say it's just exhausting to continue to get junk-punched by the sports gods.

I was watching the SMU/IU game with Junior last night, and made the following comment on being an SMU sports fan:

"I feel like Charlie Brown on Groundhog Day, where Lucy pulls the football in perpetuity."

That about sums it up. Just seems that we, as SMU sports fans, can't ever catch a true break...and it is aging us in dog years.

Well said, but I will keep putting myself through it!
