Been awhile since I posted but couldn't get over this at the game.....

Point system has backfired - the MOB sucks this year. I'm calling all of y'all out.

It's glaring, I'm sorry. I am a decent number of years removed from school but I can see the difference plain as day in the kids.

I am not saying I have the answer, I don't know how you shell tickets out. But, the difference between last year and this year is bad.

Yeah.

24 would have definitely picked up a second technical last season.

Please. Last I saw, 24 was putting daggers in SMU. 24 Qualls picked up his own tech being a complete moron with absolute zero to do with the crowd. Zero.

Agree, OP. I know being organized isn't exactly a fratty thing, but they need to plan better next year so they have the points to get the tickets.

I thought the MOB was excellent. They stayed the whole game and were into it.
The problem is we never got any momentum not did we go on any runs to get ALL the fans into the game.
But I think the MOB was commendable.

When we made several runs in the 2nd half the crowd got into it but them the team faded and we lost the mo.

Right. Not the fans' fault. We got beat by Arkansas. Good team and good for them. Learn from it.

I agree. The MOB wasn't the issue.

Losses aggravate issues, but section 112 is awful. I was in it trying to pump people up. Every kid is soft as [deleted]. Literally looked at me and gave me a blank face when I told them to yell.

Greeks need to get back in this section. It's purely my fraternity. Go around and give ten tickets to every chapter, this is absolutely awful.

Ponyboy being a massive serial sunshiner notwithstanding, the SMU fans did get back in to it when it looked bad. However, that was all the team's runs - short lived as they were.

The MOB led hardly anything as I saw it - they just stayed to the bitter end. Great. Everyone was going nuts during those runs because it was starting to get exciting no matter who you are. It's like they are trying to recycle the same old schtick from last year without the organic coming out rowdy party of our team. It ain't gonna work. Just be loud as hell the entire time, they weren't.

The MOB isn't the problem and they aren't bad. But they're watered down compared to last year. But Greeks knew the system so it's on them to overwhelm everyone else and get that access.

They're watered down because only a certain type of person is going to go to basically any sporting event besides men's bball and football, and football this year is only for masochists. That's just the real bottom line. I agreed with the point system at first, but in practice I don't. Without pledges, fraternities just aren't gonna rack up enough points.

I agree with this.

If the fraternity and sorority folks don't want to attend other sporting events, they don't deserve to get their tickets in basketball.

I was a fraternity member when I was at SMU but, as far as I'm concerned, I want students in the lower level student seats that are supporting the Mustangs... not groups trying to get their letters on national TV.
