Why are we putting our fans through that level of security?

I don't care if they do it, but there needs to be a better process. Crazy slow and then the guy doing the wand isn't even doing it correctly.

Because we're SMU and we do everything we can to ruin the one good thing we have

The security set up is horrendous. For the game last Saturday, all of us were standing out in the rain and I told the guy to move the table back closer to the entrance so more people could stand under the covering. He just looked at me and didn't say anything.

You're right. It's a pathetic joke !!! I've had to adjust my normal pocket contents and be careful not to wear a
large belt buckle just for SMU BB games. The reality is that between the incompetence of the security team and the
technological advancements of weaponry, if someone wanted to bomb Moody , it would be a piece of cake !
It's all about appearances for our masses of "sheeple" !!

The stadium wasn't full at game time and it wasn't because SMU fans arrived late...they were held up in line, outside...that is unacceptable

Unfortunate but true - make it hard in many ways.

Incidents like the Boston Marathon bombings have caused universities and athletic departments across the country to review their security during their events. Like all sports teams, SMU wants to provide a secure environment for our fans and guests, so they enjoy a great game. To do that, we looked at best practices across the country. Our bag check and wanding protocol is a result of that review, as well the result of a request from SMU’s Board of Trustees.
Thanks for your feedback, though. We’ll pass it on to our security team. We’re always trying to improve and streamline the process.

Security idea is good. They just need more guards with wands to get the crowd in quicker.

I have no problem with the security at all. It just seems the implementation could be improved. Thanks for the response!

I'd figure they would have had this fixed for the game last night due to half the fans being soaken wet for the EWU game.

We could help out too. When I was at ewu game, two people in front of me left their keys in their pocket and had to be further analyzed by the wanders.

Would think they could work something out like TSA where season ticket holders could be cleared and issued an ID card to pass through a lightened security line. Just an id check.

This is stupid. Nothing bad has or will happened at an SMU game. And I have little faith the screening process will improve.
