SID, why...

The intro video this year is not good. Does nothing to fire up fans or team. Why do we stay with something most don't get excited about, when a few quick edits to last years - albeit old - would still be quantum leaps above what we have this year?

Are we not nimble enough, smart enough, to react quickly and wisely to what works, or doesn't?

Or, are we so preoccupied with raising ticket prices and Mustang Club dues, to capitalize on one good BB season and a fB hire, that we have no time or inclination to fix something relatively simple.

They could have used a consultation from Culwell & Sons at least to learn how to tie a properly pressed tie. I mean they want to project a hip style but it came off looking like they were wearing their first tie from Dad's leftover collection. I kind of like the concept/setting but not the execution

Bottom line: do you get the willies watching any part of this intro? How about last years? This is simply about being effective. My scores: this year - 3.
Last year - 9-10.

Agree. It's ok that we're not still coming home. Pull the trigger. Give the fans what they want!

I'm not bashing anyone because I haven't seen it. What I can say is that these types of media productions do have a huge impact. Good ones show the level of committment the school is willing to put forward on all fronts. Unfortunately the bad ones do the same.

My neighbor is an Ohio St. grad and every week he sends me the, what I would call a movie trailer, for the upcoming game. I hate OSU as much as the rest of the country, but after watching the video , I'm ready to put on pads and go play gunner for Urban Meyer. I can only imagine what it does for the Buckeye fans and players.

Go back to 'coming home' like Hulk Hogan going back to 'real american' entrance music. Escalation of commitment?

Ran into an OkieState guy I know, who goes to a couple SMU games a year, this morning at Starbucks on Hillcrest. He wanted to know what I thought about LB's coaching this year, then he said "why did you guys not come up with an intro that got you pumped like you had last year (he had gone to the Wyoming game last night and I think another game earlier). My responses were 1). Not overly impressed so far but will withhold until a few games into conference (assuming MK to be back), and 2). because we are smu and we do what we do.

This. Edit out the black and white footage of Shawn and Nick and thrown in some video of a few of the other guys, maybe update some of the music and live game footage used after the "Coming Home" part, and done. Give the people what they want.

Also, with all due respect to the band, we need to use more recorded music and less old-timey band stuff. The Mob is noticeably more active when they play some Dr. Dre, Seven Nation Army, Jump Around, etc. during timeouts.

I thought the production was better in the 2nd half of the Wyo game, but they still have a ways to go compared to last year.
