What's up, Keith Frazier?I've watched every game this season except the past two. It looked like KF was finally realizing his potential, playing with confidence and contributing by doing a whole lot more than shoot 3's. But after games of 17, 16 and 16 points, he's gone for 4 and 0 the past two games. From those who watched the games, what is happening? I really thought he turned a corner and would be someone who showed up on a consistent basis.
I miss Troy Matthews.
Re: What's up, Keith Frazier?Doesnt seem to be setting his feet and the tv announcer said he hasnt made one 3 shot unassisted all year. Catch and shoot
Re: What's up, Keith Frazier?Hey, he had the towel going last night!
![]() Played good D and it would help to hit that first shot. ![]() Go Ponies!!
Beat whoever it is we are playing!! @PonyGrad
Re: What's up, Keith Frazier?Very disappointing turn last couple games.
Thought he had turned the corner. The hitch in his shot is back(big leg kick) and making a lot of mistakes. Beat the hell out of anybody!
Re: What's up, Keith Frazier?I think he had a mental block last night. Had several good shots but nothing wanted to go in for him.
Re: What's up, Keith Frazier? He's gone cold. It happens. He'll be back.
More concerned about Ben Moore playing soft. Very few rebounds from him. We have to get tougher inside. Yanick had best game of the year and someone obviously told him to ALWAYS slam when he is underneath. Great defensive game all around. We need to find some more scorers.
Re: What's up, Keith Frazier?I sit real close to the floor and have a great view from behind of when the Ponies are shooting in front of the visiting teams bench. From what I've seen, he looks as though he is not following through with a pure hand down release, that is going straight down with the hand. He looks as though when he start's to release, he is pushing the ball to the right with some type of weird English on the ball. I don't know if it is just an inconsistency or if he has indeed changed his shot. Whatever it is, it's not working.
Re: What's up, Keith Frazier?I thought KF's defense was the best I've ever seen. Tenacious with tons of effort.
He missed his shot but that happens. I think he has turned a corner and is much more comfortable playing the college game. Pony 81
Re: What's up, Keith Frazier? It's clear they prepared Ben Moore for the season one way and are being forced to play him another. He needs to learn to face w/more consistency and the handle is there. He can't shoot a lick, though, which is a big set back in hat transition
The fact we aren't riding Yanick bothers me. He gets himself in position to make a legit low post touch every possession, unless we shoot before he rolls off the screen. Seriously. of our perimeter players not named Nic, name a better option
Re: What's up, Keith Frazier? He had his best game. Nic tried to feed him inside over the top a bit but I thought he was a bit slow footed on those. Much tougher under the basket last night. I think he got riled up early and that helped his intensity. I think we could look at him and Ben Moore inside a bit more on passes to get our perimeter more open. We need more inside out.
Re: What's up, Keith Frazier? Not as concerned
He's still getting good shots in the flow of the offense and he's not forcing shots. Defense is improved and he contributing in more ways I think its your basic shooting slump "With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: What's up, Keith Frazier?
I agree. Do you think they prepared him to play the 3 with his size and dribble ability? KF will be fine. He is in his own head on offense. That is the problem. His def looks much improved though.
Re: What's up, Keith Frazier?
He's a shooting guard, doesn't surprise me that all his threes have been assisted. I think that the only person who hasn't had an unassisted 3 is Nic cause as he's bringing up the ball he can pull and pop
Re: What's up, Keith Frazier? We only have one person who can dribble penetrate, and that is Nic. We were counting on that from Mudiay. We lost Russel, who did it last season, and even RM doesn't do it as much as last season. So, we don't have great spacing and nobody penetrates and dishes it back out.
The other thing that opens the 3 is an inside outside game. MK does a great job when he gets the ball inside of sucking players in. He is so physical, he can afford to draw a double and pass out of it. BM wasn't prepped to do that ahead of this season, and neither YM or CC are physical enough to body up, draw the double, and kick. They pretty much attack right when they get the ball. For Keith to be more effective, we need BE to start driving and dishing, which I think he is capable of. And then getting MK back will help spacing and open things up as well.
Re: What's up, Keith Frazier?Offensively, we need to run (with RM/Nic/Yanick and even BenM and CC). We are big and deep in the front court but they are "running bigs" if that makes sense. Finesse and length and speed (even with MK). And most runs are set up on the defensive end - why LB stresses that so much. I'd like to see us averaging up around 75-ish points per game.
