http://espn.go.com/new-york/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/11989790/big-ten-tournament-played-madison-square-garden-2018The Big 10 plans to start including MSG in their conference tourney rotation, even if they have to play it the week before the Big East. They would consider shifting some of their non-conference games to the normal championship week in order to accommodate it. If it is well attended, it could be bad news for the Big East once the current contract is up.

The Big East contract runs through 2026, which is longer than the arena's remaining lease above Penn Station (2023).
The ACC tried to lobby MSG/Cablevision to break the deal but failed.

Why would the Big East be interested in a Memphis Shooting Guard?

Yes. Will help with recruiting exposure too. I like it, lot of B10 alums out that way.
