Any chance Moreira and MK on court together?

Don't remember seeing the two of them on the court at the same time last year, but is there any chance they'd both play with MK back now that YM seems to be gaining confidence?

Moreira is averaging 24 mpg and Kennedy will average about 30, so they will definitely be playing together. I'm not sure why ppl suggest Ben Moore can play the 3 though. We can't have that few of shooters on the floor at a time.

I think so. My guess for the starting lineup: Nic, KF, B. Moore, MK and Yanick.

No way, we can't play basketball with only two people on the floor who can consistently make a 12 foot jump shot.

We need to be starting:

N Moore, K Frazier, S Brown/J Martin, Kennedy, Moreira

B Moore can be first off bench, with MK moving to center.

Ben Moore can definitely play the 3. He is basically a better version of Sterling brown who played the 3 pretty much all year last year as a starter. you sacrifice a little on the defensive end to gain better ball handling rebounding and offense.

Ben has good handles, is a good rebounder and defender, and He has turned himself into a great free throw shooter. H also has nice touch and e can finish in the paint. I have no problem with a guy like that at the 3. Further there is nothing wrong with a 6'8 athletic guy bothering outside shooters all night. BM reminds me a lot of shawn marrion. If he developes a good mid range jumper BM will play in the NBA as a small forward.

With Larry Brown playing Yanick and Cannen together at times, I don't see why not. I would think MK at the 4 and YM at the 5 would make sense, and we have CC with the ability to come off the bench for either one. Although, last year MK consistently played at the 5, and they were rarely if ever on the floor together.

Actually you can if you make it a point to consistently go inside to your bigs that are great passers like yanick and MK. I would love to see pick and roll run with NM and MK with yanick waiting for a dump off if help rotates over, BM slashing to the basket , and keith frazier running to the open spot for a kick out 3. Further the line up of KF, YM, MK, NM, and BM would be really good defensively.

In your scenario, the defense will play off BM because he can't shoot and clog the middle, helping defend pick-n-roll or YM.

I think it all depends on the situation. If we need to go big, having both out there, along with any of the others can allow us to dominate inside. If we need to go small, Larry has some other options.

I fell pretty good that BM will hit 12 jumpers he already turned himself into one of the best free throw shooters on the team. Also if the opponent packs the paint I'm sure KF and nic moore will be open for kickouts and they are way above average shooters. you give either of those guys 7+ decent looks a game and they are scoring 15+ on you. Not to mention that line up will dominate the glass on both ends.

Do you all think it will take MK a while to get back into the groove of things? When Yanick went out last year he was never the same player the whole year when he came back. We can't afford to lose another OOC game so he better get acclimated fast.

I hope not - remember that Yanick got injured and so couldn't practice for a bit then MK had a great year. I think MK has been practicing and he (LOOKS anyway) seems to be in good shape. Certainly nothing substitutes for game time speed - I just wish he had a few more games under his belt before UM but I'll take whatever I can get at this point.

As for lineups - I would think he comes off the bench for a game or 2 depending on how he's playing, how the team is playing, and who the opponent is. Once fully back, I'd expect this as the starting lineup:

YM, MK, JMart, KF, and Nic

But I'm actually kind of liking Ryan and Nic in the game at the same time and playing Nic off the ball as much as possible. So maybe it's:

YM, MK, KF, Ryan, Nic (this gives us offensive fire power for sure but a little light on the 3 on the defensive side). Heavy doses of Ben, JMart, BenE, and Sterling. That's killer depth! Beat Michigan and I think we can make a run for this thing.

Remeber Yanick had a knee injury and I suspect it wasn't fully healthy when he came back. MK is completely healthy and has almost certainly kept working out/practicing (on his own if not with the team). He will still have to get up to game shape but hopefully it won't be like Yanick last year.

Got my fingers crossed!
