"Billy Embody ‏@BillyEmbody
#SMU F Markus Kennedy traveled with the team to Michigan today. No announcement about eligibility."

I will go with the Christmas spirit and take this as a positive sign. No bah humbug here.

It's a positive for sure. Maybe they let him go because there's still no word yet and it could come down later today. Stay in the hotel room if ineligible.

It's just all very odd. SMU sucks at communicating. With so many interested parties, why can't they release something that gives status (no personal details but something like "academic eligibility under review now that final schedule has completed and expect decision by X in compliance with the bylaws of the university, state and federal laws, and NCAA compliance" something like that). Not very "1500 friendly" how they are handling it right now.

businesses are only as transparent as their customers and employees demand them to be.

we are the customers of SMU athletics - it would behoove us to remember that.

Maybe we're trying to keep Michigan in suspense.

Why would you leave him in the hotel room? He sits on the bench at home games.

Did he travel with the team for other games? Not that it means much bc that would be to focus on academics.

Because we're talking about traveling. I don't think ineligible players travel. Maybe it's at the team's discretion. I don't know - too many stupid complicated rules to figure out -- like our tax code.

Pretty sure he did not travel to the other away games this season.
