Huge game. Let's get that road W.
KenPom gives us a 41% chance of winning (59-57 final).

Cincy coach will act as consultant only for remainder of the season due to his medical condition.
One of the assistants will serve as HC

Huge test for SMU.
The early start time is going to be kind of strange for both teams probably. I think it's easier for the visitor though since you are already on a tightly planned and unusual schedule

Play smart and limit TOs. How does this years Cincy compare to last? We list there but put a beating on them here

Last year we were a halfcourt man-to-man defensive team relying on Kilpatrick on offense. This year we play a 2-2-1 pressure and a match up zone defensively much like Louisville. Offensively we have pretty good post players but they are all first year players in Gary Clark, Octavius Ellis and Coreontae DeBerry. In the backcourt our only consistent guy is Troy Caupain. Farad Cobb is a good three pointer shooter but is very streaky. The wing is manned by Jermaine Sanders (steady) and Shaq Thomas (better player but streaky). We are getting better offensively but still have a long way to go.
Since we are at home, I predict a narrow UC victory, 61-60. I still think SMU will end up as the best team in the conference.

FWIW I was very impressed with your home court last year. And I hope they rally around Cronin and his family.

That will make things really interesting. Because of our lack of ball handlers and inconsistent perimeter shooting, I expected a lot of teams to run zone on us. But the passing abilities of our bigs (MK and BM in particular) makes it really, really difficult. We absolutely kill teams in the zone with a big passing from the top of the key and hitting back door cuts. When USF went zone for a while we absolutely drilled them. From what I have seen, zone teams are going to have a hard time against us, and tight man teams really give us fits and force a ton of turnovers.
If Cincy comes out playing zone, they will switch over to man pretty quickly I think.

i would run zone on us all day long. USF game we seemed to pass the ball around much better once someone get at the top of the foul line to distribute

Soo the pregame correspondence on this thread seems light for the magnitude of the game

Anyone ever watch the show 24? I have that clock and sound effects in the corner of my eye counting down to every game.
