Sterling Brown at the 4

Did anybody else notice our crunch-time lineup?
Moore, Frazier, Manuel, Brown, Kennedy. Fascinating to see Brown play the 4. You couldn't get away with that against a team with two talented bigs on the floor but it worked out well for us and provided better spacing once they started doubling Kennedy. What did you guys think?

There have been a few times that this has happened but it's pretty sporadic. In this game this was done because a) Temple's bigs had effectively fouled out at that point so Temple had no inside game scoring or rebounding and b) this allowed us to put good length their guards so you could bother temple on their jump shots.
Basically it was game specifics that lead to that line up and I wouldn't expect a lot of minutes for Brown at the 4 for most games.

If we don't have KF for the rest of the season, Sterling may be our only backup guard (or Emelogu if Sterling starts in Keith's place)

Wish we had another solid ball handler/shooter on this team. That's all we're really missing to be an elite team (guess that's what JMart was supposed to be). Just ONE more shooter/ball handler. Put Shake or Sed on THIS team and we would be absolutely killer. Damn.

Sterling Brown, esp on the road, does so many little things that help our team win. Blocked a shot at 1 end, offensive rebound that led to Nic Moore jumper on other. Keeping ball alive and knocking it back into play right under our hoop - who was there? Markus coming down the lane for a monster dunk. Guy needs more PT, let Keith ride the bench more on the road til he learns to shoot a basketball away from Moody.

I was kind of shocked Yanick wasn't on the floor for that stretch, especially with Temple in major foul trouble inside, but it worked!

larry often switches brown for defense and yanick for offense, especially at the end of games.

I think we needed to defend their guards from shooting 3's and needed people on the floor that could do that. There was period when Nic was not on the floor that we will really good defensively. Everyone 6"4+ and could guard on the perimeter.

If armageddon happens tomorrow for KF, who do you put in the starting lineup?

I'm thinking one of the four horsemen -- Pestilence has always been a personal favorite and no one is going to want to body him up.

We need some attitude on this team. Next man up. We still have the most talented, experienced roster in the AAC. Sterling your in. It's damn sure isn't Armageddon when we can put 5 experienced players on the Court all with starting experience.

This. I'd start Sterling to answer PonySnob. And would love to see him average a few more buckets. When he plays motivated/brings energy (which is most of the time), he's amazing.

we've got solid depth and guys like Sterling and Ben E. would do just fine if they were called on to play more minutes. Cannen has shown what he can do in extended minutes. This is a pretty solid roster and if these guys gel at just the right time, we could make some noise in the post season. I don't know whether that means winning the AAC Tourney, advancing out of the 1st round in the NCAA Tourney or even winning that NIT title for coach Brown, but I like this roster.

Yeah. I'm sitting there and i had to go over the floor 3x just to make sure. But yanick wasn't getting it done on either end and it was the D that drove that comeback. Well dome IMHO.
