Prime Prep to Forfeit Charter"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: Prime Prep to Forfeit CharterIs anyone surprised? If Neon Deion is involved, don't walk, run from it
GO MUSTANGS!
Re: Prime Prep to Forfeit CharterSurprise surprise. These prep schools opening everywhere are not good. 90% aren't run the right way. I remember back when it was just Oak Hill, Findlay, and Huntington Prep....it's evolved into so much more. They're opening non-stop, I think it's going to hurt recruiting the next few years. Coaches gotta be very careful about who they recruit and making sure they qualify.

Re: Prime Prep to Forfeit Charter
The Billy Preston kid. By the way LA, I still haven't had time to do write-ups, but I did see the #1 player in the country for 2017 finally for the first time live. DeAndre Ayton, he's from Balboa which is in San Diego. He's easily the best prospect not named LeBron that I've ever seen. Ayton is someone I wish I never had seen, he's one of those guys you're better off not even knowing they exist. Ayton is 6'11, skilled big, needs to add weight obviously. This kid came out in warm-ups knocking down the 3 ball and it was smooth, picture-perfect form too, great release. You're looking at him going "how the fvck can somebody that tall, be that coordinated and mobile?" Literally that is all that runs through your mind watching him. When he shoots a jumper, it almost looks like KD, cause he's so tall that it almost looks awkward because it's not supposed to happen. I don't know if that makes sense? Another thing, he is extremely mobile for a big-man. My favorite quality is his outlet passes, he threw at least 5 in the two games I saw him on a rope. I mean, hit his guy in stride and full-length of the court in about .2 seconds. Defense was toast everytime. He has a ridiculous wingspan too. I don't know what it is, but I'm guessing it's between 7'2 and 7'5, he grabs so many balls that are "out of his area" just because of his length and athleticism. Anyways, /mancrush. But seriously, check his highlights out, it's impressive.
Re: Prime Prep to Forfeit Charter
Yes, Preston was at our game against ECU. Very interesting about Ayton. I've heard the name but never seen him. I will look for him on YouTube. Thanks for the info. SMU-12 NCAA appearances, 1 Final Four

Re: Prime Prep to Forfeit Charter
You won't be disappointed. He's going to be unbelievable if he can stay healthy and continue to progress.
Re: Prime Prep to Forfeit CharterTo put into perspective how good he is, he had 18 points and like 17 boards against North Carolina last summer on his U-18 team...And they beat the University of North Carolina lol.

Re: Prime Prep to Forfeit CharterThat's freaky and impressive.
Re: Prime Prep to Forfeit Charter
Yeah, it's more than freaky. When you see a guy that's damn near 7'0, coordinated, dropping 3's with a beautiful jumper in warm-ups, you know you're watching something special. This guys could be better than the prospect than Oden was supposed to be. He's miles better than any guy near 6'11 that I've ever seen as a sophomore in high school. An NBA scout told me the gap between him and the second biggest is like the gap between LBJ and the next best in his class that year. I think that pretty much tells you how the league feels about him. I couldn't tell you how many coaching staffs from across the country were watching him. Probably about 100 or so, and it was the who's who. I chatted with Pitino and Izzo for a bit and they were sitting front row for his game.
