I like the idea from our marketing department on this one, allows you to honor the past but still present something kind of fun and fresh. The retro cards look pretty cool on the website splash page.
I bought 4 tickets this morning for $19.72/ticket, I was kind of confused that they were available but it sounds like basically every game they get tickets returned by the visiting team and thus have to find a way to turn them around pretty quickly. I figured for $80 for my family to get a spend a Saturday night (bad weather at that) watching our guys in Moody sounds like a hell of a deal. The person i spoke with said there were only about 30 tickets left at the time, so sounds like it will again be sold out and rocking!

If the students will dress up and get into it the throwback theme, this could be a cool night. I know the favorite thing currently is to bag on the MOB, but there are a few down there that GET IT and do it right. Seems the biggest problem is getting all of the students that have tickets to actually show up.

I think you are right that now it's in vogue to bag on the Mob. While they haven't been what they were last year, the newness has worn off. Being able to start with a game v. UCONN and have it be an exciting win was just something so unique that it started insane momentum. The team has been playing outstanding, won 14 out of 15? To me it's not just the Mob, it's the rest of us up in the 200 level who haven't really been as engaged either. As with anything it starts with a spark and while we would all love that to be the students maybe it can be us up in the 200 level and help it filter down to them. 7 pm on a Saturday should have the Mob pretty lubed up and ready to roll.
I guess I should have added the link to the purchasing page, like i said the person this morning told me very few were left, but again there isn't a bad seat in Moody!

My seats are in section 201, and we definitely have a few rowdies mixed in with many who sit on their hands. You are correct that it usually just takes a few to get the rest of the folks engaged.
I've even seen (and heard) MM65 in 201 a couple times this season.

I still wear my 1972 clothes, although I did have to let the seams out a lot. Does that make me retro? My wife calls me cheap.

I am really really hoping that Larry decides to play along and wears something from the 70s. Even if it is not the overalls, just a polyester suit and the crowd WILL go wild.

If Larry isn't wearing his ABA coaching uniforms, I will be very sad. This is a chance to win big.

Somehow I don't think Larry is going to wear anything retro...

If we could get the entire coaching staff to buy in, it's this:

all great ideas! might be tough to persuade LB i'm guessing, but they can at least show some of the pictures from his days in the 70s on the screen, should be good for a few laughs and engaging the fans

FYI for you youngsters, the women use to go braless. It was a women's liberation thing that all male students fully supported.
late 60's early 70's was sort of like "Animal House".

We should get Norm to call the game with Rich for another touch of 70s throwback.
BubbaP, most of the guys from that era are now the ones needing bras. Or bros. Or manziers.
